Virginia Mercure, MPA, has over thirty years of experience as a senior manager at Gandara Center, the Latin American Health Institute, and the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (MDPH), among other state and private non-profit organizations. She supervised 4 Peer Recovery Support Centers since 2009, engaged in the CAPRSS pilot at Stairway To Recovery PRSC in Brockton, MA, along with 5 other centers selected nationwide, has supported the development of the CAPRSS Performance Improvement Plan during initial accreditation and has participated in reaccreditation. This experience was vitally important in establishing solid structure, operations and governance required to successfully meet the initial challenges of opening new centers, the ability to continue to remain focused on recovery principles as the centers matured and to ensure that the agency, staff and members had authentic shared ownership of each center’s outcomes. Ms. Mercure is currently providing technical assistance through PRSC BSAS to BSAS-funded centers.
